· Irish Dance

Irish dancing is flourishing today, thanks in part to the tremendous success of shows like "Riverdance" and "Lord of the Dance". It is an art form, however, that is many centuries old and has been passed from generation to generation. It is not only a beautiful art form, but those that engage in its study and performance are doing a tremendous service in preserving an ancient cultural tradition which has survived many centuries of invasion, colonization, famine, and emigration. Becoming involved in Irish dancing not only teaches a respect for Irish culture but also discipline, self-confidence, creativity, conditioning, and cooperation. It is of paramount importance to maintain a teaching environment which is friendly, positive, nurturing, and fosters the enjoyment of dancing.
